No data collection

This website collects no data about its visitors. No analytics, no cookies, no tracking scripts, no fingerprinting, no advertising, no affiliate links, none of the rest of it. Every site says this. If you know your way around a browser’s developer tools, you can go and check, and you are warmly encouraged to.

Everything a page here needs comes from this site’s own address: no fonts borrowed from a font host, no embedded players, no scripts from strangers. Each page carries a content security policy saying as much in its own head, so if one ever sneaks in by accident, the browser will refuse it before it does anything. Open the network panel and you should see this site and nothing else, which is either reassuring or very dull, depending on your tastes.

What your browser stores

Exactly one thing, and only if you ask for it. Picking light or dark with the theme switch saves that choice in your browser’s local storage under theme, so the site opens the way you left it. It is not a cookie, it is never sent anywhere, and nobody but your browser will ever lay eyes on it. Leave the switch on “system” and even that much is not stored. Clearing your site data wipes it, and the site will forget your preference entirely and with no hard feelings.

Logs kept by the host

Here is the one asterisk. Like essentially every website in existence, the hosting and CDN providers that serve these pages may keep basic technical logs for a short while: an IP address, a user agent, the time of the request. That is a normal part of running a server and fending off abuse. Oshada cannot see those logs, has never asked for them, and would not know what to do with them if they arrived. They are not used for tracking or analytics of any kind.

Contact information

The only information collected here is what you choose to share when you write to contact@oshada.aleeas.com. Whatever you send stays in that inbox. It is never sold, handed to third parties, or used for anything other than writing back. There is no mailing list here to be added to, so writing once signs you up for precisely nothing.

Encrypted mail is very welcome, and secretly a bit of a thrill. His public key and its fingerprint are on the about page; send yours along with your message and the whole conversation can carry on that way. Conversations are confidential by default and go no further unless you explicitly say they can.

Your requests

Since nothing is collected, there is nothing on file to correct or export, apart from any mail you have sent. Ask for that to be deleted and it will be, immediately, with no follow-up questions about why. For anything else data protection law where you live entitles you to, write to the same address. You will get an honest answer from a person instead of a form that takes eight weeks to reply.

A commitment to privacy

It makes no difference who you are, where you are from, or how you ended up here. This site runs no ads, sells nothing, and earns exactly zero. It exists so Oshada can put his thoughts and his work somewhere. Knowing which of you scrolled how far would be mildly interesting for about a day, and it is not worth following you around the internet for.

Each one is marked, so you know you are leaving before you press it rather than after. Those sites have their own privacy policies and their own habits, and Oshada is responsible for neither. He links only to places he considers reputable, but the moment you land there you are somebody else’s problem.

Where this sits

This one covers you and your data. Two others cover the rest: the content policy says who writes what appears here, how it is corrected, and the licence it is published under, and the terms of use set out what you may do with the site and what counts as misuse. The three are meant to be read as one document, and none of them contradicts another. If you find a spot where they do, saying so would be doing him a real favour.

This may be updated when practice or regulation changes. Every update is posted here with its date sitting under the title above, so you can always tell how fresh what you are reading is.
