Access and audience

Anyone is welcome here, though nothing has been written with readers under 16 specifically in mind. The content, words and graphics and all of it, is about as dangerous as you would expect from a blog and portfolio. Reading it costs you nothing: no account to create, no banner to dismiss, no box to tick before a page will load, and nothing collected while you are here. See the privacy policy.

Copyright and content use

Everything on this site is the copyright of Oshada Seneviratne: the words, the graphics, and the ideas holding them up. The writing is published under the licence set out in the content policy, and that licence is what decides what you may do with it. Worth two minutes of your time before you reuse anything.

Anything the licence does not reach is reserved: the graphics, the downloadable files, the site itself. If you want one of them, or you cannot tell whether the licence stretches as far as what you have in mind, ask. The answer is very often yes, and he enjoys being asked.

Downloadable content

Anything you can download here is copyrighted too, and meant for the person who downloads it from this site rather than for redistribution. Every file offered here is clean: no tracking, no malware, no surprises.

Proper use of the website

This site is built to be visited with an ordinary web browser. Automated visitors that respect robots.txt are perfectly welcome, whether that is a search engine indexing pages or an AI tool fetching one because somebody asked about it. Past that line it stops being a visit: bulk scraping, ignoring robots.txt, poking at access controls, or burying the server in requests all break these terms. Collecting the writing here to train a model is its own question, and the content policy has the answer.

Writing to him

Mail is welcome and read by an actual human being. What you send stays private, on the terms set out in the privacy policy. One thing worth stating plainly, because it is the sort of thing that goes wrong later: if you send an idea, a suggestion, or a correction, he may act on it. He may write about it, build it, or fix the thing you pointed at, and doing so does not create an obligation to you or give you a claim on whatever comes of it. If you would rather something stayed out of that, say so in the message and it will.

Availability and changes

This is a personal website, not a service with a support desk. It may go offline, move, get rebuilt, or vanish entirely, and posts may be edited or withdrawn. Old links are kept working wherever that is reasonable, because a URL that stops resolving quietly breaks something on somebody else’s page and that bothers him. But nothing here promises uptime or permanence, and you should not build anything on the assumption of either.

This site and everything on it is provided “as is”, with no warranties of any kind, express or implied. Nothing is guaranteed as to accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any particular purpose, and Oshada is not liable for any damages or losses arising from your use of, or reliance on, this site or anything on it. None of this is professional advice, legal or financial or medical or otherwise, and it is a poor substitute for someone qualified.

Where this sits

These cover the site and your use of it. Two others cover the rest: the privacy policy says what this site does and does not collect about you (the short answer being nothing), and the content policy says who writes what appears here, how it is corrected, and the licence it is published under. The three are meant to be read as one document, and none of them contradicts another. If you find a spot where they do, saying so would be doing him a real favour.

Policy updates

These may be updated when practice or regulation changes. Every update is posted here with its date sitting under the title above, so you can always tell how fresh what you are reading is. Carrying on using the site after a change means you are reading it on the terms as they then stand.
